BEFORE YOU COME
how to get there
By plane to Lanzarote Arrecife - Cesare Manrique Airport. The journey from the airport to the villa takes approximately 20 minutes
By ferry you can also combine air arrival to the island of Fuerteventura. The connection between the islands is by the Fred Olsen ferry and takes approximately 25 minutes. Departure is from the port of Corralejo and arrives at Playa Blanca.
By car from Huelva (Spain) to Gran Canaria and then to Fuerteventura and to Lanzarote.
We recommend renting a car. Only then will you be completely independent. The best rental company is CICAR, the prices are very favorable and full insurance is always included, so you can enjoy your trip without worries and unnecessary guesswork at the return.

UPON ARRIVAL
access and keys
For your maximum comfort, you can schedule your arrival at any hour. We ourselves suffer from fixed check-ins and check-outs on our travels. We have reserved the whole day for your arrival, so plan your arrival as it is convenient for you.
Free parking is possible in front of the house. Please just keep the passage to the neighboring house.
Before arrival, you will receive an access code to the self-service lock, where you will find the keys to the house. the key box is on the left pillar of the entrance gate. The gate does not lock, only the entrance door. there is one set of keys in the mailbox, the other is ready in the house, in the kitchen. The front door lock is sometimes difficult to unlock, pull the right handle towards you and turn the key.
We recommend that you always leave one set of keys in the box always when you leave the house. You will avoid loss and you will be flexible even if your group splits up.
Renzo will be at your disposal throughout your stay. Please inform him about your arrival. He will need copies of your travel documents to inform the local police (all guests must register). Renzo will arrange with you when he will meet you personally and explain everything necessary.

supplies & shopping
Upon arrival, we have prepared a bottle of water and bottle of local volcanic wine and for you, believe us, you will love it! And because we believe you will like the local wine, you can replenish your stock at any wine shop in the La Gería area. Emergency wine restocking is always possible at a local store at a great price.
The kitchen has basic equipment such as salt, sugar, spices and olive oil. For the first few days, we have prepared capsules for the Nespresso coffee machine and then capsules for the dishwasher.
Other supplies can be purchased at the local Tienda Tiagua supermarket. It is well stocked, so you won't need to go to the capital, you can buy everything around the corner. The shop has fresh baked goods daily, a great butcher - we recommend grilled burgers or super thin steaks. Here you also buy local fruits and vegetables, grilling supplies or dishwasher preparations or cosmetics. Credit cards are accepted. We recommend you drink bottled water. The tap water is drinkable, but not very tasty. The water in the Canary Islands is obtained by desalination of seawater and is highly chlorinated.
If you are arriving on a Sunday when the local shop is closed, shop on the way from the airport. You can find an open HiperDino store on the outskirts of the capital city of Arrecife, in the Argana district
security
There is a camera in the entrance hall and in the living room, it captures only picture. It is always covered during your stay. We have cameras for the period when the villa is empty, unfortunately in Spain squatters are more protected than property owners and the only protection is to report it to the police immediately. You do not have to deal with the alarm during your stay, it will not be active.
Our entire area is completely safe. So you don't have to worry about your safety. The only visitors may be the neighbors' cats. However, precisely because of the cats, please always close all the windows when you leave the house.
If you are in any danger, call 112.
wi-fi
Please scan the QR code bellow to connect to wifi.
VILLA
entrance
Please take off your shoes indoors, the volcanic gravel on your shoes will not please our floors or your bare feet.
kitchen
The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking and baking. Tap water is drinkable, but not very tasty, so we recommend buying bottled water. In the very top right drawer are coffee capsules, a grinder and a V-60 for drip coffee. With the Nespresso coffee machine, we recommend that you always run hot water through the system without the capsule after use, the next coffee will be better. Please pay attention to the collision of the left drawers of the refrigerator and the refrigerator door, unfortunately they cannot be opened at the same time.
The dishwasher takes longer to turn onhold down the power button (longer than usual), press the "P" button to select the program, and press the "play" button to start. If you open the dishwasher during washing (to add more dishes), it is necessary to press "play" again, otherwise the dishwasher will beep and not continue washing. Please do not put pans and wooden cutting boards and wooden spoons in the dishwasher. Salt, brown sugar and spices are ready for you on the shelf above the kitchen.
In one of the drawers you will find plastic glasses, which please use for the pool. This will prevent shards from being left somewhere in the joints if your glass were to overturn due to the wind.
garbage
Garbage is thrown into municipal bins (there is no such thing as a private bin in Lanzarote). In Tiagua, there are bins by the supermarket, opposite the sports center and in front of the Morelino restaurant and the closest location is just behind the corner in Calle Fiquinineo. Plastic and paper are sorted here. For the sake of neighborhood cats, don't leave trash outside the door.
bathroom
When showering, please open the roof window to let the steam escape and prevent mold in the bathroom. Then close it. One reason is the Calima (sand from the Sahara) and the other is that you will have a draft and the front door will remind you of it at night.
windows
Everytime you leave the house, please close all windows. There are shutters in the bedrooms and they work great for both darkness and noise. There are blackout curtains in the bedroom facing the street.
living room
In the drawer under the sofa you will find board games and puzzles, in the table by the fireplace there is chess. The backrests on the seat can be adjusted to several positions, if you want to fold them back, you must first bring them to the most vertical position and then they can be laid down. The same applies to the side armrest.
On smart TV you can login to different streaming services (Netflix, HBO, Disney and others), you have to use your own profile. Please log out upon departure.
There is a Sonos speaker under the TV, you can connect to it via Bluetooth.
Please do not use the fireplace, we have not been able to find a chimney sweep in Lanzarote and the chimney is not swept. The fire doesn't smell and the roof terrace is full of soot.
studio
On the upper floor you will find another sofa if you want to read somewhere alone.
A yoga mat, ball and rollers for straightening your back are available.
If you have small children, we recommend not letting them alone in this room. The railing is open here and the area is not suitable for small children. The same applies to the roof terrace. The presence of children in this space is possible only when accompanied by an adult or at your own risk.
roof terrace
In the corner you will find a dryer rack for pool towels and swimwear. On this terrace you will find sunbeds.
Please do not turn off or otherwise change the irrigation settings. It is an automatic system.
laundry room
There is access to a separate laundry room through the patio terrace. There is a washing machine and a drying machine. Don't be afraid of the older model, it's a Miele and dries great.
Summer blankets and special orthopedic pillows are prepared in the laundry room, if the classic ones do not suit you. On the shelf next to the washing machine there are water toys for children, inflatable mattresses and a small board, everything is free to use, feel free to take your things to the beach as well.
The laundry room also has basic cleaning tools and a vacuum cleaner.
terrace
Please use the fabric cover over the pergola only if it is not windy, the same applies to parasols. The winds in Lanzarote are strong and there is a risk of destruction.
The lamps on the tables are powered by flashlights, the white ones are lit by tapping from above, the green ones from below.
barbecue kitchen
There is a lighter in a box on the shelf under the sink. Coal and lighters can be bought at local supermarket. When you leave, please grill the base clean up. Under the shelf there are also grill utensils.
pool
Every Monday, the company comes to maintain the pool, it takes about 30 minutes. During the week it is possible that leaves fall into the pool, depending on the wind. If you are uncomfortable, use the net on the wall.
The pool is not heated, but its temperature is pleasant. The deep part is 1.7 m, the shallow part is 1.5 m and the very shallow part is about 30 cm.
By the pool you will find a "treasure garden". All treasures are local, from Lanzarote. We will be happy if you enrich it with your catches that you don't want to take home.
garden
Pitaya (dragon fruit) and maracuja are planted in the corridor behind the house. They could already have fruit in the summer. In the garden you will also find figs, olives and pepper. Everything is available to you.
Every second Saturday, a company comes to maintain the garden. Maintenance takes about half a day, of which the gardener will only be on the terrace for a few minutes.
We have an automatic irrigation system set up in the entire garden, only the flower pots on the terrace are not irrigated. On hot summer days, we kindly ask you to water (in the evening or early in the morning), a short time is enough for each flower pot. Thanks a lot.
HOUSE RULES
restrictions
Smoking is strictly prohibited in the house, including electronic cigarettes.
Please keep quiet at night between 10:00 PM and 7:00 AM. Local residents live all around. Please respect their privacy and peace.
Do not let cats into the house.
Do not leave your children unattended on the upper floor and on the roof terrace. It is not safe for them. Supervise your children even in the pool.
RECOMMENDATIONS
restaurants
Here are restaurant tips we love in Lanzarote. Right in Tiagua is the renowned Italian restaurant Casa Morelino. We recommend reservation.
Other restaurants are:
Dunas (Famara)
Cantina (Teguise) - fantastic tajines
Statvs (La Gería) - go deep between the rocks
La Bodega de Santiago (Yaiza)
Mirador de las Salinas (El Golfo) - best view on salinas and sunsets
Taverna del Mar (Costa Teguise)
Brisa Marina (Playa Blanca) - say hello to the parrot!
La Nasa (Arrieta) - book the table by the window
beaches
Famara is the nearest beach is approx. 10 min. It's a surf beach with waves and a bit of punk around. Famara has great sunsets and dunes.
Our favourite swimming beach is Playa de las Cuchcaras in Costa Teguise. Even though it is a tourist resort, there are mostly locals and few people on the beach (tourists lie by the pool in the hotel).
The most beautiful beach is Playa Papagayo on Playa Blanca.
We also have recommendations for Playa Dorada.
The beach in the north near Orzóla Caletón Blanco is also interesting.
with kids
Rancho Texas - a small zoo with dolphins and with an aqua park. Don't forget to bring your swimsuit. Here you can spend entire day. There is also restaurant in the park.
Submarine Safari - about an hour in a submarine on the coast with shipwrecks and fish viewing.
Aqua Lava park - in Playa Blanca
Aquarium - small aquarium with tunnel under the sharks.
googlemaps & guides
We have compiled a list for you on googlemaps Amonita list, where you have marked all the interesting places that you should visit before you die. You must visit at least one interesting place about Manrique, who gave Lanzarote a face.
Recommendations for places of interest within 15 minutes around our villa can be found in our Amonita guide.
If you want to explore the island really thoroughly, take a look at our Torleidi photo guide. Here you will also find tips for unusual places that are not classic tourist destinations.
