Tiagua
Tiagua is a Lanzarote village in the very centre of the island. It's close in all directions, so whether you head north or south, the journey won't take more than 45 minutes. Right in Tiagua you will find an old mill that is freely accessible. From the house you can walk through the sandy desert with views of the Famara rocks and the ocean. This desert is full of marine sediments like shells and other foundations that you can replenish our island of treasures in the garden.

Famara
Wild surfing beach, just 10 minutes from the house. At the foot of the cliffs you will find sand dunes, a completely different world from the tourist south. It is here that you will experience the most beautiful sunsets on the entire island. And this is one of the photogenic locations where you can have your family photos taken by our friend Romana, the best phorographer in Lanzarote.

Museo el Vino - El Grifo
The wine museum at the El Grifo winery surprised me. El Grifo is the oldest winery on the island, dating back to 1775. Their production is quite large, so you can find bottles of the local volcanic wine Malvasía in every shop and restaurant. I happened to stumble upon an absolutely magnificent line of Pet Nat wines by Ancestral.
The winery itself has sensitively renovated spaces with wine presentation, a nice garden for drinking and the possibility of walking through the entire winery with a guide or on your own.

Timanfaya visitors' centre
The visitor center of the only national park. At first glance, it's such a boring building, but on the second you realize that walking over solidified lava and overlooking an endless lava field is a great experience. The house itself, set in the lava, is a beautiful contrast of strict architecture and the wild Lanzarote landscape. Even though the exhibition is a bit past its zenith and the volcanic theme would deserve better treatment, notice the details of how they work with steel here. Admission is free.

Teguise
Teguise is one of the four historic towns on Lanzarote and is the most beautiful of them all. The atmosphere of the sleepy town combined with the galleries and sophisticated shops is unforgettable. You probably won't pass the square with the church, but delve deeper into the empty streets, admire the old green doors on every house you meet and don't forget to stop by the former Emporio cinema to buy a little nature memorabilia. Skip the "famous" markets, you'd be disappointed.

Fundación César Manrique
Cesare Manrique's unique first house on the island. Here he tried his hand at lava field work for the first time, making full use of the caves and fissures that are created in the liquid lava. Here you will find a broken window through which the lava "flows" into the interior, here you will see the first pools in the caves and soak up the period atmosphere from the photos.

Lag-O-Mar
a unique museum in the rock. This is exceptionally not the work of Cesare Manrique, although the handwriting is very similar. The house was created for Omar Sharif by one of his collaborators. The actor didn't enjoy the house for long as he lost it in the cards very soon. Enjoy the surreal pools under the rock, the water tunnel, the oasis of greenery in the desert. This is one of our favorite places on the island.
